Review: Careline BB Cream in Nude

Today will be about my review for the Careline BB Cream in Nude. When I was buying this, I was supposed to the the Natural Shade, which is their second to the lightest shade. However, upon swatching this at the back of my hand, it was a little bit too dark for me so I settled for their lightest shade which is the Nude shade. I am a little bit fair skinned so usually the shade that suites me when I buy skin or makeup products is either the second to the lightest shade or sometimes the lightest shade itself.

Anyway, I bought this in the SM Department Store- Beauty section for only Php 120.00. I was actually looking for the one with the new packaging, however, upon checking, the saleslady told me that the one with the new packaging is available in the SM Supermarket and this is the one which they have in the one that they have in the department store. The saleslady said that though they have the BB Cream in the new packaging, this is different since this is the one with the Whitening Element. So anyway, since it was really affordable and I have always been in the hunt for affordable BB Creams and foundations, I went ahead and purchased this.

Ingredients:

Water, Micronized Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Octyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Propylene Gylcol, PEG-30, Dipolyhydroxystearate, Cera Microcrystallina, Stearic Acid, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Magnesium Stearrate, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Fragance may contain CI 77491, CI 77499, CI 15850

Net Weight: 25mL

The product comes in a squeeze tube. What I like about this is that the tube opening is quite smaller, compared the the Shawill BB Cream, therefore it is much easier to control the amount of product that will be coming out of it avoiding wastage of the product:

So the next morning, I went ahead and gave this product a road test to see if I will really like this product and will suit my needs. Here is how the product looks like when I put a considerable amount at the back of my hand before application:

If you will notice, it seems to still be a bit darker but once you blend it, it then lightens. The product is blendable, therefore is a good thing for me.

 In the photo below, all I've got on is moisturizer and I didn't put on primer since I really wanted to test the longevity of this BB cream; upon checking, this is how it looks like:

If you will notice, it does have light coverage. It did make my face look really smooth but it wasn't able to completely cover the pimple I have on my right cheek. Also, it wasn't able to fully cover the visible veins I have on my cheeks.

                                               

                                 

It actually took 3 coats of the BB cream to be able to finally cover the visible veins in my cheeks:

Okay, so after 3 coats of this BB cream, I then went ahead to set it with powder. I used my Nichido Translucent Powder in True Natural.

If you will notice, it still wasn't able to conceal the pimple at the side of my nose but what I liked about it is that at least it was able to conceal the redness of it.

I then tested its longevity. I didn't put any other makeup on since I wanted to test the longevity of this product alone. In my opinion, there is that possibility though that this may last a bit longer if primer was applied. After almost 4.5 hours, without any blotting or retouching with powder, this is how it looks like:

                                                 

If you notice on the photos above, my veins on my cheeks are already visible again and my pimple's redness is also becoming visible.

(Note: If you check the wall clock at my upper left in the photo above, you can see it is past 9:30am MNL time. I applied the product on my face at exactly 05:23am MNL time of the same day.)

What I like:

- Very affordable, only Php 120.00 for 25ML of the product.

- Accessible: available in department stores and grocery stores nationwide

- Has light to medium coverage. Depends if you're willing to put 3 coats of the product though it is very lightweight and not sticky on the skin.

- Product is very blendable.

- It doesn't feel sticky on face.

What I don't like:

- I had to put 3 coats to be able to cover my visible veins on my cheeks.

- Not advisable if you are looking for medium to heavy coverage.

- After 3 hours of no retouching, since I have combination skin, my T-zone started to oil up already and my veins started to be visible on my cheeks again and as well as the redness of my pimple.

- You have to blot and retouch every now and then.

- With 3 coats of the product, after 4.5 hours of having the product on my face, like the photos posted above, it seemed and felt like the BB cream isn't there anymore.

Repurchase: No.

For me, this is only applicable to be used when you are just going out for about 2-3 hours, and honestly, I didn't like it that I had to put 3 coats of the BB cream to be able to hide my visible veins. As much as at least it was able to hide them, having the idea of putting that much product on my face is not appealing to me. I feel like I am already really suffocating my skin with that much product applied to my face. Since I have the whole tube though, I may still use it if I'm running errands wherein I am just gonna go out for about 2-3 hours max like going to hear mass or going to a short meeting with our church youth organization. :)

I know that this may not be the usual positive feedback for a product review especially for a very popular product like this. Please be informed though that I am just giving my honest opinions and feedback based on my experience with this product upon reviewing it. We all have different skin types, so there is a possibility that this may have not worked for me but may work for others.

Budget MakeUp Look: 500 Pesos Makeup Look

It's me again.  I apologize for not being able to blog as much as possible as I have been very sick lately and have a lot of things going on especially for the past few days. I promised myself when I started this blog that I will post at least 2-3 times a week so as I can bring you more reviews and updates about my own discoveries and purchases of makeup. Anyway, I am very excited about this post as I have really made sure I was fully equipped in bringing you this makeup look.

I know a lot of our famous Filipina YouTubers have done this as the "500 Pesos Makeup Challenge," I actually got the idea from them and said to myself, "Why not do it as well- blog style?" So yeah, now I present to you my own version of my 500 Pesos MakeUp look. 

I know makeup has been a rage especially nowadays that more and more Filipinas: both students and working professionals alike have been into and I want to give you all especially those who are still students and those who are on a budget something that may be of help. 

The products I used were all bought and can be found and purchased in SM Department Stores nationwide and are also mostly local makeup brands. So, let's get into it. :) I will also be including the prices in the caption for each photo of the makeup products I will be showing below. :)

Here are the products I used:

For the whole face, I used this Careline BB Cream in the shade Nude, which is their lightest shade (I was supposed to get the Natural shade, however, when I swatched it, it was a bit too dark for me). 

Careline BB Cream: Php 120.00

 Nichido Eyeshadow and Blush Palette with free Lip Blush: Php 100.00

Aido Budget Pack which includes a pencil eyeliner, compact powder and lipstick: Php 100.00

Okay, so I used the Careline BB Cream for my whole face, then the Nichido eyeshadow palette for my eyeshadow. I then used the Nichido Liquid Eyeliner to line my upper lids to make my eyes look larger (and at the same time, I am someone who is so obssessed with eyeliners that I don't go out without any eyeliner LOL).  Then for my brows, I used the Aido pencil eyeliner. For the blush, I used the one in the Nichido Eyeshadow Palette (I used the one on the left side since I wanted my blush to just be light and look at least a little bit natural :D) For the lips, to make sure my lips will stay moisturized, I used the Nichido Lip Blush- which is a tinted lip balm. And of course for some color on my lips I used the Aido Lipstick which was also included in the Aido Budget Pack. And lastly, for my eyelashes, I used the Essence Cosmetics Get Big Lashes Mascara. And of course, to set everything up, I used the Aido compact powder as my setting powder.

If you have been reading my previous posts, you will know that my go-to eye makeup is either just neutral browns or smokey. Though, for this one, I decided to do something different by doing something fresh and can be used for a daytime look. And this is the look I came up with:

So there you have it. I came up with this look as I wanted it to look fresh and basically something you can put for a daytime look. I wanted it to look natural and fresh. :) 

If you have seen the total cost of these products, it only cost me Php 488.00 to be able to come up with this look. :) The Php 100.00 budget packs in Nichido and Aido are always available and I don't think they will have that taken away as whenever I pass by their counters, I always see them available and I see they always have a lot on stock. :) I really like how the Nichido palette- both the eyeshadows and the blushes are very pigmented, not something you can expect from a Php 100.00 budget pack but I can say that the quality of their palette is really good. 

So anyway, I hope you liked the look I came up with and I hope this could be of help especially to those who are on a budget. I realized that you can really come up with a good look without spending too much and as well as not to sacrifice the quality of the products you buy. Of course, we don't want to ruin our skin with cheap and horrible makeup products just to look good. :)

Review: Careline 12-Shades Eyeshadow Palette

Today I will be reviewing one of my newest purchases which is the Careline Eyeshadow 12 Shades with Vitamin E. I just recently got this and was inlove with it when I swatched it on my hands. As they say, it was love at first swatch. Haha. In addition to that it is very affordable, you can buy the palette with 12 shades for just Php 140.00. Very affordable, isn't it? :)

Once you open up the box, this is what the palette looks like on the outside. It's just a simple white packaging with the brand name printed in the middle of it, nothing fancy. The packaging also is very handy as it is very sleek and can easily fit into your makeup kit.

 And once you open it, you will see the product itself. It is a good thing though that it does have that plastic separator though. If you can notice through the transparent plastic, you may assume that it does have specific names for the different shades. However, all it states are the Eyeshadow numbers but there aren't no specific names for each shade. Apparently, Eyeshadow No. 1 starts from the upper left (the white shimmery one) then downwards. So basically, the numbers are done in a vertical pattern. In addition to that, the palette comes with an eyeshadow applicator which I think is a plus. At least you're sure that the eyeshadow applicator is inside the palette so if you will be bringing this with you in your makeup kit, you know that there's little chance you will lose it as it is already inside its packaging. You just have to be careful in opening it though, to avoid the eyeshadow applicator from sliding off.

And of course, my favorite part, the swatches. :) If you can notice, I took two (2) pictures of the swatches I did on my forearm. Reason being is that I wanted to show how it looks like with camera flash and without flash. This actually made me very excited as each shade is very pigmented as you may notice in the pictures posted below. Whether with flash or without flash, pigmentation is very good, so i do like it. :)

This is something I highly recommend to makeup beginners and those who are on a budget but needs a variety of shades for their eyeshadow and everyday makeup look. For makeup beginners though, I advise being careful first in applying the product in your eyes because since it is highly pigmented, you have to make sure that you don't put too much if you're just aiming for a natural to light finish.

What I like about this product:

- It is very affordable: Php 140.00 only and you already get 12 shades.

- It is very accessible: available in SM Department Stores, Robinson's, Watsons and even in leading grocery stores like in SM Hypermarket and SM Supermarket.

- Since you have 12 shades in a single palette, you can create different eyeshadow looks, from natural to smokey. Also, this is a palette which can take you from a daytime look to a night time look.

- Pigmentation is very good. 

- Aside from a variety of colors, there are also two (2) matte shades - the brown and the black one which you can also use on your eyebrows and then the rest are shimmery shades.

What I don't like about the product:

- Since there is an eyeshadow applicator, and there's a respective place for it in the palette, when opening the palette, you have to be very careful in opening it even you don't want it to fall out.

- The white packaging, though very sleek is made out of thin plastic, so if be careful in handling it as it may actually break into two pieces or may cause the eyeshadows itself to crack and fall out.

Repurchase? YES!
