Review and MakeUp Look: Bobbie Cosmetics Smoked Out Palette

Hey Loves!

So this is a review plus makeup look about the Bobbie Cosmetics Smoked Out! Eyeshadow Palette. I'm into smokey makeup a lot, in fact, if you have been following me on Instagram, I always prefer my eye makeup smokey whenever I go to work. Aside from the fact that it gives my chinky monolid eyes some depth, it also makes my eyes look larger. Anyway, on with the review then I will be posting some pictures of the makeup look I was able to come up with using this palette alone for my eye makeup.

Its claims:

Get sexy, smoldering eyes in no time with Bobbie Cosmetics SMOKED OUT! Eyeshadow - an array of daring and captivating colors that allow you to dramatically dress up your eyes for a sultry, smoked-out look.

Ingredients:

Anyway, honestly, the purchase of this palette was unexpected. I was roaming around Watsons in SM Bicutan when I saw this displayed on the Bobbie Cosmetics counter, I went ahead to check it out since I have always wanted dark and smokey eyeshadow shades and has been in the hunt for it ever since. I was completely surprised and blown away with its price. It only costs Php215.00! I was, like seriously, a palette like this with 12 shades for only that price? I mean the packaging looked more expensive than its price. So without second thoughts, I bought this palette.

And this is how the palette looks like. It reminds me of the Urban Decay Palettes:

So the palette comes with a 2-sided brush, one was a thin brush and the other end was an eyeshadow applicator:

On with the swatches. I wasn't able to swatch this palette prior to buying it because surprisingly as well, it doesn't have a tester. So I got to swatch it when I got home. Quite honestly, the shades are not that pigmented especially the white ones at the middle:

So there are the swatches. I was kinda disappointed honestly since I was expecting something more pigmented especially that I have seen reviews from popular Filipina YouTubers who have tried out the eyeshadow quads of this brand. But, anyway, I can't complain. This only costs Php215 so I guess I am not in the position to complain about what I purchased.

Moving on, what I did instead is that I tried to do a makeup look with this palette to also test if it's blendable or not, and if maybe it will look more pigmented once it's applied on the eyes already. So yeah, let me show you the makeup look I was able to make using this palette.

So yeah, after applying it, I was happy with the results though I have noticed that you have to apply how many coats of a single shade for it to totally stand out.

What I like:

- It's very affordable: Php215.00 only!
- Packaging looks very classy though it's made out of cardboard. Kinda reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette.
- Accessible: Available on Bobbie Cosmetics Counters nationwide especially in SM Department Store- Beauty section and at Watson's as well.
- There is the 2-sided brush/ eyeshadow applicator.

What I don't like:

- Pigmentation is not very good. I had to apply how many coats of a single shade before it actually stands out.
- There are just 2 versions of this palette: this one- SMOKED OUT! palette and the INTO THE NUDES palette which also comes in 12 shades. However, upon checking the latter, I saw that though the palette is supposed and expected to be matte and nude colors, they are actually shimmer shades still and only 2 matte shades available in the palette.
- The white matte shade (found at the middle of the palette) is not at all pigmented. Idk, I was disappointed with it.
- There wasn't a tester in the Bobbie Cosmetics Counter for the 2 palettes. You won't be able to swatch it prior to buying it since it's completely sealed.

REPURCHASE: Maybe.
I was indeed happy with the makeup look I came up with but of course I still have to test its longevity. Once i go back to work next week, I will try using this palette instead of my Urban Decay ones so I can see if it will last me the whole day. :)

So there we go, this is my review for this palette. I  don't regret buying it though but of course, I cannot avoid some disappointments.
