Review: New Maybelline White SuperFresh Powder Foundation

Hey Loves!

I'm back with another review of one of Maybelline's new face products which is the Maybelline White SuperFresh Powder. You may be wondering as well why I just bought the refill product. Reason being is I want to try the product first before I actually purchase the compact ones. For years now, I have been using the Maybelline Two-way Cake Foundation which I find very effective and affordable. In fact, I have gone through many refills already. I think Maybelline is really stepping up on its game when it  comes to face products especially their foundations and compact products.

So here is how the product looks like. Like mentioned earlier, I just bought the refill ones to test on it first:

This refill's original price is actually Php199.00 but since they have a Php30.00 off, i was able to purchase it for only Php169.00 only. I like how the refill packaging looks like. It is also white just like the compact itself. The refill also comes with a clean sponge which is a good thing. Ones you open the product, there is a plastic separator, separating the sponge from the powder to make sure the sponge will maintain to be clean and not smudge or ruin the product itself. I got the shade in 03-Natural

Its Claims:

- 12-Hr Fresh: Fair and Matte
- It has Clean Touch Technology
- Enriched with Mineral Perlite for maximmum oil absorption
- Has SPF 34
- Results: Fresh and Radiant look, Flawless, even finish, Clear Matte texture, Doesn't clog pores

Ingredients:

Talc, Perlite, Titanium Dioxide, Zea Mays Starch/ Corn Starch, Kaolin, Triisostearin, Ethylhexyl, Methoxycinnamate, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Magnesium Stearate, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone, Silsesquioxane CrossPolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, EthylHexylGlycerin, Tocopherol, Parfum/ Fragance Linalool.

It is also available in 4 shades:
02- Nude
03- Natural
04- Honey
05- Sand Beige (darkest shade)

(I got the one on 03- Natural which is the 2nd to the lightest shade and I must say that this shade fits me perfectly :D)

Okay, so this is the swatch of the product:

Based on the swatch, I can say that it has a almost opaque coverage and it's matte which is a plus for me. I do have combination skin wherein I have just enough moisturized face but my T-Zone is tends to be oily.

Okay, so yesterday, I finally decided to test the product. It has been sitting on my makeup drawer for a few days now untouched still in its plastic packaging. So yesterday, when I went to mass in the morning, I decided to test this out. I didn't put anything else on my clean face except for my Celeteque Moisturizer which I put on my whole face except for my T-Zone area to avoid getting it oilier. And besides, like I said, I tend to be very oily in my T-Zone area so I don't think putting moisturizer on that area will be advisable.

So anyway, I wanted to test if its claims are really true and if this product will be effective for me. So when I went to mass yesterday morning (the mass was at 9:30am MNL time), I decided to use it. So I used it as is, no foundation or BB creams applied, just the powder itself, my Aido lipstick in Number 12, my Nichido Liquid Eyeliner, and my Nichido Eyebrow Pencil in the shade Taupe:

Since I was early to church, I decided to take a selfie. I apologize for the not so good looking selfie as I wanted to be discreet in taking this picture. LOL. This picture was taken at 09:18am MNL time, just before mass started.

So there, I took another selfie when I got home which was about 1.5 hours later since we passed by several places first before going home to buy something for lunch. Note that I have walked under the heat of the sun going from one place to another, and this is how my face looked like:

So yeah, I was really impressed with the fact that my face is still matte and that my T-Zone wasn't oily yet. And of course, I was happy with the results! But of course, I still wanted to test the longevity of the product, so after 3 more hours, I decided to take another selfie to to show you how matte my face was and how happy I was that my face especially my T-Zone wasn't oily at all. :)

So there, my T-Zone wasn't that oily still after 3 hours and that my face still looked matte and fresh. :) So yeah, I am so happy with this product. :)

What I like:

- It is affordable, the compact itself costs only Php249.00 (originally Php299.00) only since they have a Php 50.00 off on it, and the refill (which was the one I purchased) only costs Php169.00 (originally Php199.00) since they have the Php30.00 off on it.

- It has a refill. Once you've purchased the compact, and you've run out of the product, instead of buying a new compact for it, you can just purchase the refill which will save you a lot and at least you can still use the same compact you have.

-It has a manufacturing date. At least you will be assured that the product you have purchased is not old stock.

- Accesible: Available in malls and department stores nationwide in all Maybelline Counters. (SM Department Stores- beauty section, Watsons, Metro Department Stores- beauty section and in Robinsons Department Stores as well. Also available in Maybelline counters in grocery stores. :) )

- Once you open the product, I like the fact that there is a plastic separator between the powder and the sponge making sure that the sponge won't get stained with the product while still on the counters.

- It has a sponge included. Though I know that all Maybelline powder refills include a sponge, not all local powders and local powder/ foundation powder refills have free sponges included once you buy them.

- It has many shades. Here in the Philippines, though most Filipinas are morenas, we still have different skin complexions, so I think that having a variety of shades available is very good.

REPURCHASE: YES!!
In fact, I'm planning to buy the compact itself next time I go to the mall. :)

So that's it for now. I hope this post will be able to give you more information especially if you're considering buying this product. Please note though that we have different skin types so the result it may have for me may not have the same results to others.

Please stay tuned for my future posts as I am planning something exciting for it! :) Hope you can follow my blog here as well in Blogspot to be updated for my future posts. :)  You can also follow me on Instagram: Yhang_Chua since I keep my IG account updated especially for new posts. :)

Review: Nichido Liquid Eyeliner in Black

Hey Loves!

It's me again. Today I will be reviewing one of my favorite makeup products which is the liquid eyeliner. Quite honestly, I can't go out without putting on eyeliner. Reason being is that I do have little chinky eyes because of my Chinese Heritage and of course, I wanted to look like I have bigger eyes.

So anyway, the product I will be reviewing this time is the Nichido Liquid Eyeliner. This product has been existing for a long time now since I have been using this product ever since my college days. It's just that when I discovered the existence of gel liners a few years back that I started using gel liners instead. Anyway, just a month or two ago, when I started really collecting, or should I say, started hoarding on makeup (that means buying new makeup products every week #MakeupAddict here) did I stumble upon this product again. I realized that I can just use this liquid eyeliner on simple occasions like going out to the mall for errands or something like that so as I can save and prolong my gel liners (let's be honest, gel eyeliners can be quite pricey especially depending on the brand even if they are just drugstore ones) which I use daily when going to work or going out with the family, friends or with my fiance. So there, I bought one tube of it, anyway it was only Php 68.00 so it's not that burden on my budget.

So there, ever since I bought this, I haven't used it yet and was just tucked inside one of my makeup drawers on my vanity table until the other day that I decided to use it and see if the quality is still the same or maybe even better.

So let's get on the review itself. I went out with my parents the other day and decided that instead of using my FS Gel Eyeliner, I may as well use this one instead as I wanna see if it will smudge just like the gel eyeliner I have been using recently, and besides, there's no need to put too much makeup on as we were just going to the nearby mall to buy some stuff. Let me show you some of my photos with this eyeliner on:

This photo was taken around 3:45pm before we left home. As you can see, I already have the eyeliner on:

At around 6:30-7pm when we finally met with my Dad who came from the office, we decided to have dinner and I decided I wanted to check out the longevity of my eyeliner so I decided to take another selfie:

As you can tell, my eyeliner is still intact and haven't smudged even a bit and this was after almost 4 hours ever since I applied this product. :)

Okay, and the finale, we went home at around 8:30pm since I had to wait for my sneakers to get its final fix in Mr. Quickie, when I got home, lo and behold it's still there, it didn't smduge and it's still fully intact! Imagine how happy I was with the result!

So those are the living proof of this product's quality and longevity. :) Anyway, on with the product, let me show you the product specifics:

So there, it comes in a small black tube which has the product or brand name on it. It also contains 4mL of the liquid product.

Once opened, this comes with an applicator which is a pointy very thin brush at the end which makes lining especially the lids of the eyes accurate and properly.

Let me now show you a swatch of the product itself:

So there you have it. I love this product and is considering using this for now instead of my gel liners. Aside from the fact that it is very affordable- retails for only Php68.00, it is smudge proof, dries fast so you don't have to wait for a long time for it to dry on your lids to avoid it from smudging everywhere. In addition to that, its darkness is very good as well. One thing also that since this comes in a small tube, it can easily be brought and will fit perfectly in your makeup kit.

This product is available nationwide: in SM Department Stores, Watsons, Robinsons Department Stores and even in the beauty section of Metro Malls.

Repurchase: Definitely YES!!!

So there you have it, I hope this review was able to help you in deciding on purchasing liquid eyeliners especially to those who are new to using liquid eyeliners and to those who are looking for affordable, good quality and accessible eyeliners in the market here in our country.

Review: Nichido True Colors Liquid Foundation in True Natural with Sunscreen

Hi Loves!

So today, I will be reviewing one of my new purchases. I have been in search of local and affordable foundations recently and while I was in the beauty section of the SM Department Store, I stumbled into this. Quite honestly, I wanna experiment first with local foundations first before I purchase others from Maybelline, L'oreal and Revlon. I wanted to see if our Philippine local makeup drugstore products are as effective as those high end and even those of imported drugstore ones.

So this is what it looks like with the complete packaging:

The container is actually made of glass and I love the fact that it has a pump so you can actually control the amount of product you are going to use. In addition to that, what I like about this is the pump can actually be locked by twisting it so it will close. Therefore, if you will be bringing this to your makeup kit especially when travelling, it's a sure thing that it won't spill.

I got the shade in True Natural by the way:

And the consistency is good. It is thick and not watery which is a plus for me.

Its Claims:

Water based, smooth liquid.

A perfect match to your skin. Provides a natural, satin, finish. Gives skin an even tone without accentuating imperfections.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Titanium Dioxide, Propylene Glycol, Isopropyl Myristate, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Silica, Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Triethanomaline, Peg-8 Beeswax, Phenoxythenol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, EDTA.

May Contain: +/- CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499

Contents: 30mL/ 1.0 fl. oz

Prize: Php 268.00 (in SM Department Store- Watsons Section)

Okay, so on with the review. :) Basically, this is also the first time that I will be applying this product to my face for I want to make sure that the review will be really a first hand review.

What I first did is that I have put foundation on the other half of my face and the other has none so that we can see the comparison of its coverage. All i have put on my face before I applied this foundation is my ever effective Celeteque Facial Moisturizer with Triple Moisturizing System (I have been using this moisturizer for more than 7 years now since I have been using this since I was in college.) and my Beauty UK Prime fx Foundation Primer which i purchased from an online shop named LoveManila (IG: @lovemanila):

(I apologize though if the packaging of this is a little dirty as I have been using this for a long time now. Apparently, a little goes a long way for this moisturizer and this big tube actually lasts me for months. :) )

Okay, so let's go on with the review for the foundation itself.

Okay, so the left side doesn't have foundation and the other side has. If you can notice, the ones with foundation has a smoother finish. Let me go ahead and give you close up pictures:

Without Foundation:

If you notice, I do have veins in my face that are visible. I don't have the much blemishes except that my veins are so visible and obvious.

With Foundation:

With foundation, you can notice that my veins have been partly covered by the foundation which I think is good enough as I don't usually apply concealer except if I think it is highly needed. But I like the matte and smooth finish it gives.

Now this is the photo where I already applied the foundation in my whole face:

So this is how it looks like. Please note that I haven't put any makeup on except for my foundation primer and my eyebrow pencil for my eyebrows and the Nichido Lip Blush which is basically a tinted lip balm which I am currently loving. :)

And using my trusty Essence Stay Matte Face Compact Powder, this is how it looks like when you set it with powder.

So yeah, I do love the smooth and matte finish it gives especially when set with a setting powder. I also decided to show you a picture when I apply basic makeup wearing this foundation:

(In this photo, I only applied brows using my Shawill Eyebrow pencil liner in Number 2, my now favorite Sassy Colors Blush in Creamy Cinnamon and of course my brown Aido Lipstick in Letter C.)

So I tried the longevity of this product as well. This is how it looks like after more than 2 hours. I do have combination skin wherein I do get oily in my T-zone. What suprised me about this product is that my T-zone didn't oil that much. In the photo shown below, this is how it looked like after 2 hours. Please note though that I didn't do any blotting nor did I retouch with powder. My blush is still there so I think it's still good. :)

What I like about this foundation:

- It is very affordable: Php 268.00 only.
- Accesible: Can be bought in all SM Department Stores and Watsons stores nationwide and in Robinsons Department Stores beauty sections and also Metro Department Stores Beauty Sections.
- Packaging is good. It is made of glass and has a pump with a lock which I think is a plus.
- Packaging is cute. It has some mandala prints on the bottle.
- The product is buildable and it dries fast but not too fast that you actually have to be pressured to put the product on your face the fastest time possible.
- It does provide a matte and smooth finish which I really like since I have combination skin.
- The consistency of the product is thick and not watery.
- It doesn't feel heavy or thick on the face and that it feel very light weight.
- This is good for light coverage if you are just going out for a few hours.
- Longevity is very good as I stated with the photo above, I haven't blotted nor retouched with a powder after two (2) hours, my T-zone hasn't oiled that much yet.

What I don't like about this foundation:

- Though coverage is very good and the product is buildable, for me to be able to cover the veins in my face, I had to put 3 coats of the product since I don't usually use concealer for it.
- Though there is a pump and a lock on the pump, it basically doesn't have a cover/cap to protect the pump itself.
- For heavier and thicker coverage, I don't advise using this product.

REPURCHASE? Maybe. Like I said earlier, this is only for light coverage, if you prefer thicker and heavier coverage, this product is not for you. I may repurchase this if I prefer to be putting foundation when I am just going out for a few hours in the mall and just running errands.

So there you have it. My review for this foundation. I hope i was able to provide you information if ever you are looking for a local and affordable foundation with light coverage. :)

Review: Aido Matte Lipsticks

Hi Loves!

Today I will be reviewing one my new found favorite brand which is Aido. I know this brand has been existing for some time now though I have never thought of dropping by their counter until recently. Quite honestly, I have never even thought of buying or even dropping by their counter until I was able to see reviews about their makeup products in videos of our Pinay YouTubers who have done videos, both makeup tutorials and reviews about this brand. So with that, I decided to try and check this brand out myself.

As per the videos I have found in our Pinay YouTubers channels, I found out that aside from Nichido, Aido is also one local brand who has budget pack promos which cost Php 100.00 only which consists of an eyeshadow with blush palette and with a lipstick. That was basically the main reason why I decided to check out their counter as I wanted to see and do a review comparing the Nichido Php100 budget pack from the ones from Aido. However, instead of only purchasing the Aido Php 100 budget pack, I was able to discover that they also have lipsticks which are in the shades I have been looking for and are very very affordable.

I was really taken aback as I didn't expect their lipsticks to be of good quality and most of all very inexpensive. Imagine, I was able to purchase matte lipsticks for only Php 25.00 each! Yep, you read that right, Php 25.00 only! In addition to that, longevity is very very good! It can last me for several hours even when I eat or drink and they don't come off that easily. So basically, retouching is not that often. :)

I have been liking brown, neutral and natural shades from makeup products and lipsticks recently and have been on the hunt for them ever since. Though I do also have the Ever Bilena EB Matte Brown lipstick, I wanted to have more of nude and brown lipstick shades I can add to my collection and I can use for everyday.

So let's get on with the reviews. :) Please expect though that this is gonna be quite a long review since I will be reviewing a few lipsticks here. I don't have all the shades though but I these are the ones I have. I will just be doing a separate review on those other shades once I get to purchase them. :) I decided to put all of these in one review so that you will also be able to see the difference in all the shades I will be mentioning in this review. :)

Okay, so let's start with my most favorite shade. The brown one. :)

When worn, this is how it looks like. You actually don't need to swipe it on how many times since it is very pigmented. What I also like about this is that though it has a matte finish, it is still moisturizing and won't even dry your lips. Also, like what I said earlier, longevity is very good that as long as you set the lipstick on your lips (like the baking the foundation on your face technique), it will stay on your lips for such a long time that retouching from time to time is not actually necessary.

And this is the swatch I made, that is just a one swipe swatch. So see how pigmented it is and that it does have a matte finish.

Okay, so let's get on with the next shade I have. This also retails for Php 25.00 only and same as the first one stated above, longevity and pigmentation is very good.

So this is the shade in Number 2. If you can actually observe, it has a brown and red shade though also is a matte one.

This is how it looks like when worn. Please note though that all the pictures when worn including the first one are worn on itself. I didn't put on any lip balm or moisturizing products on my lips, just the product itself.

And of course, the swatch of this. Observe that this also has a matte finish and as well as that pigmentation is very good.

And this is the next shade I have. This is the one in Number 5:

This is how it looks like when worn:

And of course, its swatch. Notice that it is like a combination of brown with a pink undertone to it.

So the Aido lipsticks I have mentioned above are all only for Php 25.00 each and is available on all Aido counters especially in Watsons and in SM Department Stores in the beauty section. I am just not sure though if these are also available in Robinsons since there is no Robinsons Malls or department stores near our area so my always go to places when buying makeup are SM malls. What I don't like though is that their shades don't have specific names but can only be classified in numbers. I am not sure though how many shades they have in this line as the ones I have mentioned and showed above are the only ones I have but I am planning to buy from this line since aside from they are affordable, I like the pigmentation and the longevity these lipsticks have.

The next one I will be showing you guys is also an Aido lipstick that seems like is included in a different line of their cosmetics. I have thought that may be the case as it has a different packaging from the other lipsticks I have purchased and stated above and the price is a little bit more than those stated above but still is very cheap. I also got the one with the brown shade, but this one costs Php 56.00

I also concluded that this one is of a different line because instead of numbers they have for the shades, this one is letters instead of numbers. Also, the packaging is different.

This is how it looks like where worn. What actually surprised me though is that even though this costs more than those stated above, the longevity of this is not as good as the ones I mentioned above, though pigmentation is still very good.

This is the swatch, like the others, this also is just for one swipe. So look how pigmented this is:

And of course, I also wanted to include here the lipstick I got for free in the budget pack I bought for only Php 100.00 which includes an eyeshadow with blush palette and includes a free lipstick.

The lipstick here though is very disappointing as it is not that pigmented. I was really disappointed with it as I also had high expectations for this like those I have showed above.

Aside from the fact that I wanted to see and compare the Php 100.00 pack of Nichido and Aido, what also primarily attracted me to buy this is that I saw that the free lipstick included was purple, which is my favorite color. Also, I have already tried a purple lipstick from MAC and was able to see that it also suited me well. So I really did have high expectations on this even though I know that this is just a budget pack. The purple lipstick's packaging was similar to their other lipsticks I have purchased for Php 25.00 so of course, I cannot blame myself if I was expecting the same good pigmentation as of the others.

Let me show you first the palette that I purchased that included this purple lipstick. The palette together with the lipstick is part of their budget pack and costs Php 100.00 only.

Okay, so on with the lipstick. This is how it looks like. It is purple, a light purple but like I said earlier, I was expecting very good pigmentation as well, but was disappointed.

As you can notice, though this has the same packaging as of the others mentioned earlier, it doesn't have a number to name or to specify this shade from the others. I don't have any idea why it's like this but what I observed though that in their Aido counter, this shade is not on display for retail purchases and this shade doesn't have a tester as well.

And this is how it looks like when worn, if you can see, it is really not pigmented and just seems like a tinted lip balm.

But anyway, I guess it was still worth it since I was able to get a new eyeshadow with blush palette for only Php 100.00. So I guess it's still worth it.

REPURCHASE FOR ALL OF THESE LIPSTICKS AND PALETTE: YES!!!!!

I also plan to purchase other makeup products from this brand to test and review since I noticed that they are also all affordable and I wanna check out if the quality is also very good as well. In addition to that, at least I have more products to add to my make up collection. :) The more makeup, the merrier! Haha!

So there you go, I apologize though if this is quite long compared to my previous posts but I hope I was able to give you all the info that may help you decide if you would like to purchase these lipsticks from this brand.

Let me know though if you would like me to review this Aido eyeshadow and blush palette or if there are other makeup brands and products you would like me to review in the comment boxes below. :)
